Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed Jackson County Democratic chairman Stephen Bough to the Sports Complex Authority, replacing Beto Lopez, whose term expired.

The Jackson County Legislature picked Bough as one of three finalists for the posts on Monday. County executive and Democratic state chairman Mike Sanders has said he wants Authority members who are more skeptical of payment requests from the Royals and Chiefs.
