MO secretary of state’s office predicts whopping 72 percent voter turnout

The Kansas City Star

The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office today announced that 72 percent of Missouri’s registered voters are predicted to vote in next Tuesday's election.

This estimate is a compilation of local turnout predictions submitted to the secretary of state’s office by the 116 local election authorities around the state.

If the 72 percent prediction is attained, more than 3 million of Missouri’s 4,190,936 registered voters will cast ballots in the election. In the 2008 general election, actual voter turnout in Missouri was just above 69 percent.

Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Unofficial results will be updated on the Missouri Secretary of State’s website (www.sos.mo.gov) throughout election night.

Voters can also visit www.GoVoteMissouri.com to verify their registration, find their polling place location, view a sample ballot and know their options for acceptable voting identification to take to the polls.
