A July 28 poll by Survey USA for KWCH in Wichita reveals a couple of interesting things about President Barack Obama in the state.
It isn't a surprise that he's unpopular -- he's got a 36% approve / 61% disapprove rating in largely Republican Kansas.
But look at this:
Income less than $40K: 33% approve 63% disapprove
Income more than $80K: 37% approve 60% disapprove
Age 18-34: 28% approve 69% disapprove
Age 35-49: 40% approve 57% disapprove
Age 50-64: 40% approve 55% disapprove
Age 65+: 38% approve 59% disapprove
The best guess? Unemployed or underemployed people are most likely to be 1) young and 2) poor.
If Obama is in similar trouble in swing states, he's in -- well, trouble.
