Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders today added former Kansas City Councilwoman Cathy Jolly to his staff as a senior adviser.
Jolly began work this morning and will be introduced at today’s meeting of the county legislature in Independence.
According to a senior staffer who declined to be named, Jolly will work three days a week and be paid $45,000 a year. She’ll specialize in public safety and public health issues, among other duties, the staffer said.
Jolly fills a post that once belonged to Anita Maltbia, who left to head the Green Impact Zone in 2009.
A south Kansas City resident, Jolly served one term representing the 6th District at large. Her husband, Scott Taylor, replaced her on the council in 2011.
Jolly previously served three terms in the Missouri General Assembly and was an assistant Jackson County prosecutor.
