Sen. Claire McCaskill, who worked as a waitress to put herself through MU and law school, today will do it again at the Flat Branch Pub and Brewing in Columbia.
She's doing it to make the point that she knows what it's like living paycheck to paycheck.
“I know firsthand the challenges facing many of Missouri’s working families because I’ve worked through many of them myself--as a college student who waited tables to pay for school,” said McCaskill.
“Missouri’s working families have enough on their minds without having to worry about privatizing Medicare and Social Security or getting rid of student loans.
"This election offers voters a stark contrast between a someone like me, who’s spent my life fighting for working families, and Todd Akin, a politician whose only concern is adhering to his extreme beliefs that remove the safety net for Missouri families effectively telling them that they are on their own.”
