After a run of positive, here's-who-I-am political spots, incumbent Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon today pulled the trigger on his challenger, Republican Dave Spence.

Nixon is pounding Spence in a new TV ad in which Nixon criticizes his opponent for his ties to Reliance Bancshares Inc., which has yet to repay a penny of the $40 million it received in federal bailout money.

In the Nixon ad, a narrator asks this:

"Don’t you think Dave Spence’s bank should pay us back before he runs for office?"
