Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders has re-upped for another term as Missouri Democratic chairman.

He was re-elected Saturday at a meeting of the Democratic state committee.

Airick West, the KC School Board member, was elected treasurer.

Gov. Jay Nixon, one of those re-elected Democrats, called Sanders a "proven leader."

Nixon added, "Mike brings a unique level of energy and passion to this job, and he’s unquestionably a rising star in our party.”
