The big question in Wyandotte County today?
What will Nathan Barnes do?
The veteran commissioner finished third last night in the race for mayor/CEO with 19 percent of the vote. He missed making the two-candidate runoff in the general election by just 200 votes.
So...will Barnes endorse either of the top two finishers: Mark Holland or Ann Murguia?
Barnes said this morning that he hadn't decided.
"I get along with Mark. I get along with Ann," he said.
Barnes said he'll talk to his supporters first before making any decision. He wants their feedback.
"It's not a personal choice," Barnes said. 'It's about a group."
Holland got 47 percent of the vote while Murguia got 22 percent.
As of 9 a.m. today, neither Holland nor Murguia had reached out to Barnes. But here's betting that both will be ringing his number today.
Barnes said he could envision either one of the two finalists winning the April 2 general election.
"It's not a slam dunk for either one," he said.
