The co-owner of the company building a water park resort in western Kansas City, Kan., was arrested earlier this month in Texas on marijuana possession charges.
Jeff Henry of Schlitterbahn Waterworks in New Braunfels, Texas, was arrested April 14 in Guadalupe County and released on bond, according to a article posted last week on the Austin American-Statesman website.
Wyandotte County's Unified Government said Henry's arrest would have no effect on plans to construct the 300-acre resort.
Deputy County Adminstrator Doug Bach said the Unified Government had spoken with Schlitterbahn officials in wake of the arrest, but not with Henry.
“We're confident that this incident will have no impact on the project moving forward as planned,” Bach said.
Bach stressed that the Unified Government deals with Schlitterbahn as a corporation and not just one individual.
