After joining the family business, Vi-Jon Laboratories, Inc., John Brunner worked in virtually every aspect of the company’s operations, eventually rising to the rank of CEO, where he served until 2009. He served as chairman of the Vi-Jon board until September 2011, just before announcing his candidacy for the United States Senate. He has never before run for or held elected office.

John Brunner has been married to his wife, Jan, for 36 years. Together, they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
