Midwest Democracy | Kline wants two justices to remove themselves from ethics case »

Kline is wholly without ethics. From unprosecuted campaign finance violations in his first try for office to his serial meetings with Kansas Board of Education anti-evolutionists in 2005, to his campaign's acceptance of illegal major help from the 501(c)3 Operation Rescue Kansas fanatics in 2006, he has regularly demonstrated he should not be allowed to practice before the bar, not only in Kansas, but the United States.

He saved his worst for tormenting Tiller and those associated with the assassinated doctor.

I don't understand why he receives a civil defense paid for by the state when he has flagrant violations of ethics and likely committed criminal acts.

Kansas governor signs another abortion bill »

Letter I wrote to my governor. I encourage anyone who feels similarly to do the same. Hello Mr. Brownback,

As an American, as a tax paying citizen of Kansas, and as graduate student of science, I wanted to take a moment to voice my absolute disapproval of your signing of the Heath Care Rights of Conscience Act. The limiting of medical technology is not on the path to progress. What's unfortunate is this is not only inhibiting on social progress, but it is actually actively taking a step back in social progress. I am very saddened by such a deliberate step backwards. Under no circumstances could I now "consciously vote" for you, but sadly, this is within my very civil rights as an American and Kansas citizen. By not voting for you based on my conscious, I am not infringing on anyone else's rights. This so called "Health Care Rights of Conscience Act" however, does infringe on other people's rights. It also allows for legal grounds for those working in the medical field to violate the "do no harm" part of the Hippocratic Oath. Once again, Kansas legislation has brought shame upon me, and I wish there were any reasonable way for me to no longer be a Kansas citizen and to be able to declare my citizenship with a different and less hostile state.

With much regret for my association to this state, Dusten Whisnant

KC schools bill stalled over House-Senate dispute »

Dieckhaus said the House has no real issues with the Kansas City schools bill.......

Exactly why he and so many like him have to go. We have a good bill that everyone likes being held up because Mr. Dieckhaus doesn't like that he isn't the only vote that counts in the democratic process. What he's saying, in other words, is that the Senators should vote for a bill they don't think is a good idea or he won't pass the one everyone thinks is a good idea.

Senator Roberts staff said that Green River has more reserves than Saudi Arabia. Honestly, no matter what oil company extracts that oil, who do you think they will sell it to after it's been refined?

The American consumer, not likely, the #1 export in the US for 2011, and 2012 so far this year is gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and distillates. The oil companies can sell this gas for a higher profit to growing overseas economies, rather than hear in the US.

Call Mr Roberts and ask him to tell you why he can't put some kind of clause in these federal oil leases, that the end product should be sold to the US consumer.

Just give us safe places to have fun, KC teens say »

Unless I missed it - how about lower taxes and fees, improve the economy and hire more teens to do work? They can earn money and pay to go to movies and spend time working and not getting in trouble.

Getting rid of the eTax and business license fee would put enough money in most business owners pockets to hire a summer teen if they needed it.

I find this report interesting...do teens really want safe opportunities, in which there is a positive police presence and relationship-building but not a smothering or intimidating police show of force?

This article sounds like the author and the people interviewed want a nanny police state where parents and kids abdicate responsibility and work just to have fun. This line of thinking is too bad...

What a tragedy to see his name linked with Twain, Truman and other famous Missourians. Even his comment at the end is offensive. Typical Rush...negativity is his gold standard. If you don't agree with him you are "deranged." He needs to understand that many Missourians are offended by his show and the hatred he spreads. It's a shame he was honored in this way.

Dan is absolutely right. Thanks to Limbaugh's racist, xenophobic, and misogynistic blather, he has outraged and motivated great numbers of formerly apathetic citizens to wake up and take interest in the relentless attacks on civil rights and liberties in this country by the far right.

Thanks to Rush's ham-handed attacks on Sandra Fluke and women's reproductive rights in general, there are millions of angry voters who will now be supporting the president, and in Missouri, Sen. McCaskill in their bids for reelection.

So yeah, keep up the good work Mr. Limbaugh. If you were not around, libertarians would have to invent you. You certainly have put a face on the nasty underbelly of racism, hate and discrimination that unfortunately still exists among the misguided, and the unabashed troglydites who need their Rush fix every day.

Obama uses KC steel plant in ad targeting Romney -- but ad won't run in KC »

Pres. Divisive resurrects Zombie Saul. Again.

This KC Business Journal article from April, 1999 is enlightening.

It wasn't Mittens & Bain that did in GST/Armco - it was tidal wave of cheap Asian steel and union strikes for higher wages and benefits in the face of a dying industry. The reason why Bain could buy GST/Armco was because it was already weak, in debt and outdated.

But I don't care about Mittens and Bain.

I care that Pres. Divisive has enslaved our grandchildren with $6,000,000,000,000.00 in new DEBT in 4 years.

I care that Pres. Divisive p!ssed $800 BILLION down the 'shovel ready jobs' crapper with jobs that weren't quite shovel ready (chuckle, chuckle)

I care that Pres. Divisive sued states for requiring valid photo IDs to vote.

I care that Pres. Divisive embraced the violent OWS mobs (Oct., 2011).

I care that Pres. Divisive said "Eff You!" to Congress and gave $192,000,000.00 of your tax dollars to a state sponsor of terrorism.

I care that Pres. Divisive shoveled $2.7 BILLION to his crony buddies for bankrupt 'green energy.'

I care that ObamaCare cost are sky rocketing past TWICE the original estimates - and it ain't even fully implemented!

I care that pres. Divisive has presided over the only DOWN GRADE of U.S. credit rating in this nation's history!

I care that home prices are at a record LOW.

I care that pres. Divisive's Tee Times are at a record HIGH (97).

I care that the sycophant Democrat led Senate hasn't past a budget in OVER 3 YEARS!

I don't care about Mittens and Bain. I don't care about Mittens and Bain. I don't care about Mittens and Bain.

"The ceremony today was unusual in that it was not announced until 20 minutes before it was scheduled to begin and was not open to the public. Only invited guests were allowed to attend."

That about sums up the obscenity which is the far right. ALEC, Citizens United Superpacs, to point out just a few, all operate the same way: secretive, extremist and bullying their wishes on the rest of us.

I hope that sanity and common decency in the form of tolerance and community will return someday. If it does not, then America is lost to the financial and religious oligarchs, along with the stupid and hateful little people that support their agendas.

Until sanity returns, we can just comfort ourselves by visualizing those films of Saddam's statue being toppled, or that huge stadium Swastika being dynamited by US Army combat engineers during the fall of the Third Reich.

    Bill Mccwiliams,

    You're not paying attention.

I am a bigot. And intolerant. But unlike you, I admit it. I don't delude myself into feeling I'm some type of open-minded, all-inclusive person accepting all beliefs, ideas and behaviors (except for those you don't - like Conservatism or your misguided definition of Christianity.)

The dictionary defines 'bigot' as one with strongly held beliefs or ideas to the exclusion of outside influence - particularly about religion or politics.

That's me: I have strongly held beliefs or ideas.

And if you look up 'intolerant' in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of my face with the words inscribed "I don't suffer fools gladly."

Yup. That's a genius move; remove the one guy who actually sits on the court with intimate practical knowledge of the job.
